United could not get the better of a depleted Spurs side in yet another disappointing display of football by our beloved reds. Seeing the match from the stands gives you a better perspective of why United are struggling so much this season. Anyone thinking Onana is the problem must be living in fantasy football land.

He is part of the problem, yes, but on the pitch I could see total lack of control in midfield, a toothless attack and a defence that can’t defend a set play against a Sunday league team!

When your best 2 players are teenagers and your best paid player can’t beat a player and runs with the ball outside the pitch, you have problems all over. And when your manager is in denial, your problems are even bigger.

United had the perfect start when Hojlund gave us the lead after just 3 minutes with a great finish after good work by Rashford. Then we sat back, with 90 minutes still to play and Spurs of course equalised. And it was yet again a goal conceded from a corner. Our defense was not marking properly but if I criticised DDG for being rooted to the line, same must go to Onano. Only that Onano isn’t a shot stopper as half decent as DDG.

United took the lead again on the stroke of HT when Rashford slotted in coolly after a neat control in the box. And again, we let opponents back in it. Spurs nearly equalised before HT with the woodwork saving us and it only took them one minute after the break to draw level. The way they cut through the middle was like a hot knife going through butter. Terrible set up – manager’s fault – no hiding.

We should have won it at the death when the sub Scott missed a header in front of goal. It would have been hard on a Spurs side – a reserves Spurs side, who came to OT and we’re the best team against a lacklustre United. Apart from individual issues and quality, this team is not well set up on the pitch and lacks a pattern of play – whatever ETH and his coaches does on the training grounds is simply not working…NUMQUAM MORIBIMUR!
