ABOUT US
The Foundation
The Manchester United Supporters’ Club in Malta was founded on 4th February 1959. The Club Founder John Calleja narrates a summary of how it all happened.
‘In August 1957, I had my first visit at Old Trafford. I was overwhelmed by the great reception I got especially from the Boss Matt Busby. I had already started thinking how to reciprocate.
In August 1958, a few months after the Munich disaster, I went back to Old Trafford. I spoke to Sir Matt Busby about the idea of setting up a Manchester United Supporters’ Club in Malta. Busby was very enthusiastic about the idea and asked Secretary Les Olive and first team trainer Jack Crompton to give me all the possible help.
Musc malta - gozo branch
On 3rd May 2019 the Committee of the Manchester United Supporters’ Club Malta signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Club on our sister island Gozo. It was befitting that this milestone coincided with the time when MUSC Malta was celebrating its 60th anniversary since its foundation in 1959, the oldest Manchester United Supporters’ Club in the world.

ECHOES from old trafford - CLUB’s magazine
The Echoes publication started its life in season 1973/74. The first issue was printed in September 1973. Prior to that, the club committee used to communicate with its members all its news, apart from the normal circulars, which are still sent nowadays, via a stencilled newsletter which basically gave news on recent matches, player news and United news in general.
